Trinity Lutheran of Rice Lake, WI used a quarter collection challenge, primer lessons on African culture and resources, and a speaker who brought art/crafts, books, slides, and first-hand knowledge of Trinity's sister congregation in Malawi to raise our awareness.

Our Sunday Church Sschool made drums, maracas and sang in Swahili. We all enjoyed facts about animals, food, people and products. Members made some Malawian recipes, did quizzes and a collage.

Middle-school students used varied papers, gift wrap tubes, pails, sand and imagination to cover a 6' x 4' corrugated carton for background. Areas of grass, pond, brush, and palm trees were filled with animals and plants. Pre-school through grade five used raffia, toothpicks, chenille, felt, cloths, cotton balls, seeds, papers and markers to do bees, hives, fish, fowl, water buffalo, goats, sheep, pigs, huts and people. World Hunger training projects were depicted that have benefitted from our dollars.
