"PLANT A SEED"

"Plant A Seed" is a mission project that has been initiated at Saint John.  It began with a bake and craft sale at the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.

Participants are given "mission seeds" (10 dimes) in a seed packet to be used to "grow" mission funds and an offering envelope in which to place their "harvest."  A list of missions will be published as our project progresses.  There is a place on the offering envelope to specify your favorite mission.

The "seeds" are to be used for a money-making project.  Each participant is responsible for selling and collecting the monies for their project.  The money may be turned in at the end of the project or before the 1st of October when we plan to have a harvest celebration.

Following are some ideas for money-making projects.  Any other suggestions are always welcome.

Can you:

Knit, crochet or sew an article that may be sold?
            Make hand-made greeting cards?
Make some baked goods or other culinary items
Share an over-abundance of garden produce this summer?
            Propagate some plants"
Share some flower bulbs in time for spring planting?
            Build a birdhouse?
Make an item for a silent auction?
Mow a lawn and donate the proceeds?

A rummage sale is planned during June.  So please save unwanted items if you would like to donate them for this sale.

If you are interested in participating in a project, please contact the Church Office for your "seeds."

USE YOUR TALENT AND IMAGINATION TO GROW YOUR SEEDS!
