Dawn Pederson, seminary graduate, used her J-Term time at Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa to create this beautiful quilted stole soon-to-be a part of her Sunday morning ministry as she looks forward to a call within the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin.

The quilt has over 200 pieces measuring 1 inches by 1 inches. It is designed in the "watercolor pattern," meaning the fabric is selected by color intensity, going from the very lightest squares to the darkest.

"I've named it Bountiful Grace," said Pederson. The fabric contains designs of wheat, grapes, vines &endash; all Biblical in nature. "And it's reversible," she went on, "with a solid green background" appropriate for the season of Pentecost.

"Most stoles are made out of finer fabric," said Pederson, "but I chose cotton because of the ordinary nature of it's content. It compliments the wheat, grapes, and vines."

Dawn Pederson served her internship at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church, Osseo.
