ADVENT PROGRAM

First Lutheran WELCA in Amery has an annual Advent Program on the first Sunday
in Advent. We meet at 2:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall with a program consisting
of readings about Advent and also singing Advent hymns. Following the program
we gather for fellowship over coffee and Christmas goodies. We invite several
local church women's groups plus our sister church. Our women bring two dozen
cookies and table decorations of Christmas. Following the program our women pack
goodies for our shut-ins. Our circles take turns in setting up, doing the program,
and cleaning up and packing the goodies. We are done in time for the women to
get home before dark. It's a nice time to gather and reflect before the busy
holiday season begins. |
