GENERAL INFORMATION FOR COSTUME USERS
Read carefully before using costumes!
1. Wear and Care
a. The tips on age, accessories, shoes,
hairstyles, etc. are just suggestions if your models want
to really look their part. Do not feel bound to abide by
them.
b. Hemlines may be altered - sew by hand in stitches
that can be easily removed.
c. Be sure costumes are hung up or packed carefully,
and the parts kept together after the program. The models
should be responsible for this.
d. When you receive the costumes, some of them may
need ironing. Be VERY CAREFUL about your iron
temperature, and try not to get water on them. Avoid
ironing velvets and lace.
e. You provide your own accessories - shoes, jewelry,
etc. There are a few provided. Please return them along
with the costumes.
f. No eating or serving in costume.
2. Sizes vary.
a. Ask another person to model the costume if
you would need to make any alterations except for
hemline.
b. There should be one person from your group, not in
the program if possible, whose sole responsibility is
organizing the models and getting them on the stage the
day of the program AND seeing that they reassemble the
pieces of their costumes after the program. The day of
the program the coordinator can use an assistant to help
in dressing the models.
c. Please wear a T-shirt type top and your own full
slip under the costume. If this is not possible, wear
something that will protect you from coming into direct
contact with the costume. This is especially important
with costumes that are dry cleaned only. This will also
help us in keep-ing the cost of the costumes to you at
the minimum. These suggestions are for your protection
and also for the garment.
3. Local users.
a. Please return all costumes and accessories in
the garment bag in which you received them.
b. When returning costumes you have received by UPS,
please pack them care-fully, folding each garment and
keep all parts of the costume together. DO NOT put in
trash bags. It is too easy to overlook a small item.
Thank you for following these instructions.
