Ideas for Programmatic Planning

1. Sponsor a 'get acquainted' coffee time for each woman who joins the congregation.

2. Plan and conduct the Thank Offering Service for your congregation. Remember, it does not necessarily need to be in the fall.

3. Write a special column for your church newsletter featuring individual women in the congregation, highlighting their unique skills, interests, jobs, hobbies, favorite recipes, etc.

4. Publicize reading materials, audiovisual and program resources.

5. Furnish each new member of your congregation with a one-year subscription to the Lutheran Woman Today, along with an invitation to attend a Bible study meeting. Invite her to go with you!

6. Publicize information about Conference and Synodical events, Bible study introductions, retreats, prayer groups, educational events or theological seminars,

7. Provide seasonal devotional resources for home use. (Portals of Prayer, Christ in our Home, etc.)

8. Host a reception for the confirmation class and/or high school graduates of your congregation.

9. Host an intergenerational family night at your church with a talent show for all ages and all 'family' groups.

10. Facilitate growth in spirituality through journaling daily faith experiences, creating banners and visual arts, music and art.

11. Establish an Adopt-a-grandparent program between congregational children/youth and the older members of your congregation or a local nursing/retirement home.

12. Organize a "Bibles and Bagels" (or other 'catchy' name) study group for young mothers.

13. Add others as you find them.
