All Saint's Day Activity Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beldenville, WI has a paper chain with the names of the Saints who died during the past year written on each link. On each link of the chain we have written in full the name of the deceased. It might add more meaning to also add their baptismal date and death date as well. We have not added any other names of saints of the larger church on the chain, but it would add a nice touch. The chain is stored in a very large plastic bag in the attic. Each year we add more links. On All Saint's day it is draped over the communion rail and each saint is mentioned during the Prayers of the Church. Communion is done very carefully to avoid damaging the chain .We may go to intinction on that Sunday in the future. |
