He will raise you up on eagles' wings;

bear you on the breath of dawn,

make you to shine like the sun,

and hold you in the palm of his hand.

Based on Psalm 91

It is important to walk with our loved ones as far as we can into death. We cannot cross over into their new home, but we can certainly go as far as the door with them.

I would encourage you to pray this prayer close to your loved one. Sit on the edge of the bed, hold his hand, touch her head, shoulders, or arm.

It is a comfort to your loved one to know that you are with him or her on the journey with the Lord to his or her new home.

BASED ON PSALM 27

: Hear our voices, Lord; we are calling!

All: Hear our voices, Lord; we are calling!

Leader: One thing we ask of the Lord, this we seek: To dwell in the Lord's house all the days of our lives, to gaze on the Lord's beauty, to visit God's temple.

All: Hear our voices, Lord; we are calling!

Leader: do not, Lord, hide your face from us; do not cast us off; for you are our help, O God our Savior.

All: Hear our voices, Lord; we are calling!

Leader: We believe that we shall enjoy god's goodness in the land of the living. we take courage and wait for the Lord; we are stouthearted, and we wait for the Lord.

All: Hear our voices, Lord; we are calling!

WORD OF GOD
John 14:1-3
Leader:
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.

(A period of silence)
