 MOTHER'S DAY REMEMBERANCE PINS

Blue is the color of Advent devotion.
Oh, how hearts fill with love and emotion.
As we await our clear Savior's birth,
For Jesus comes near to dwell on the earth.

White, is the color of God's gift of grace,
Which is offered so freely to the whole human race.
Christ's purity and holiness shine forth; oh, so bright,
As we view our Redeemer that holy Christmas night.

Purple is the color of Lenten remorse,
Of royalty and also of repentance, of course.
Jesus our King hurries now on his way;
To Jerusalem He journeys without delay.

Black, is the color of death, without and within.
Dark is the afternoon as dark as our sin.
As Good Friday leaves us with guilt and with loss,
We look with sadness and view Christ on the cross.

Gold is the color of that glorious Easter morn.
When Jesus the Christ, Son of God, was reborn.
That bright angel light shines forth in the tomb
To tell us to end our sadness, our doom and our gloom.

Red is the color of the fire of the Spirit
That burns within us; on Pentecost we hear it;
How Christ's blood was shed so that we might stand tall
His power poured out on the Church - on us all.

Green is the color of living and growing;
The new life the Spirit among us is sowing.
The Pentecost season helps us to remember
The power of the Spirit burns within like an ember.

Aqua is the color of the Baptismal water,
Through which God makes us a son or a daughter.
Three drops on our forehead remind us each day,
The Father, the Son, and the Spirit are on the way.

Yellow is the color of the holy Gospel light.
The radiance of Christ shines forth with great might.
It lights our path through the darkness of life,
As we view a world filled with sin and strife.

This Mother's Day we gather here
To tell the story we hold so dear.
So wear this pin, our gift to you
Remembering Jesus all the year through.

This is a safety pin with different colored beads representing a color of the church year. It resembles the "Friendship Pin" and was made by the youth and given as a Mothers Day Gift. The pin accompanies a beautiful poem that explains each color and the church season it represents. It can be used and distributed in a variety of ways from Sunday School to individual groups. It's a perfect way to learn and remember the seasons of the Church Year!
