INSTALLATION SERVICE
FOR PARISH HEALTH MINISTER Following the offering, the service begins. "As representatives of Trinity Lutheran Church, I confirm and certify that we have called (name) to the position of Parish Health Minister. She has accepted this call and is presented for installation at this time. (Advisory health board members and (health minister) come to the rail.) PASTOR: Our Lord who came among us as a servant, calls us to faith and a life of loving service to our neighbor. You now stand among us as one called to render a particular service, a gift from God to inspire us to love and good works. Reads Romans 12:4,5. Commentary by congregation: We are all ministers. Our baptism makes us ministers. Ministry embraces both the calling of all the baptized and the office of the ordained. Ministry is the service Christians offer to each other and to the world as well as the proclamation of the Word and the administration of the Sacraments. Ministry is the response of Christians in every sphere of life to the gracious call of God. Ministry by and among Christians is derived from the gifts bestowed by the Spirit in baptism and is nurtured within the household of faith.
