Brief Order of Reconciliation and Healing L: God of grace, you nurture us with a love deeper than
any we know, and your will for us is always healing and
salvation. L: God of love, you enter into our lives, our pain and
our brokenness, and you stretch out your healing hands to us
wherever we are. L: God of strength, you fill us with your presence and
send us forth with love and healing to all whom we meet.
L: Touch with your healing powers the minds and hearts of
any here living in confusion or doubt, and fill them with
your light. L: Touch with your healing power the minds and hearts of
any here burdened by anguish, despair, or isolation, and set
them free in love. L: Break the bonds of any here imprisoned by fear,
compulsion, secrecy, and silence. L: Restore to wholeness, 0 Lord, broken relationships,
grieving hearts, injured feelings. L: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (Be seated. During the silence, reflect upon the areas in your life in which you need God's forgiveness and healing. Are you angry with anyone? Holding on to a grudge or hurt feelings? Is there anything you're feeling guilty or uncomfortable about? What in your life do you want changed? Write any of these down on the slips of paper enclosed in the bulletin. Fold the paper, come forward, ignite the paper from the Paschal Candle, and let the light of Christ purge these burdens from you.) (When everyone has returned to their seats; turn toward one another and in turn pronounce God's forgiveness and healing upon each other.) IN THE MERCY OF ALMIGHTY GOD, JESUS CHRIST WAS GIVEN TO DIE FOR YOU, AND FOR HIS SAKE GOD FORGIVES YOU ALL YOUR SINS. TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, HE GIVES THE POWER TO BECOME THE CHILDREN OF GOD AND BESTOWS UPON THEM NEW LIFE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT. AMEN. |
