FOR ENROLLMENT OF CONFIRMANDS
Pastor:
Who presents these young people as candidates for
confirmation instruction?
Each
Candidate is presented by his/her parent OR sponsor to the
pastors: I/WE PRESENT (student's name)
The ministers address the sponsors: Will you, parents
and sponsors, support these young people by prayer and
example, and help them grow in the knowledge and love of
God?
The sponsors/parents answer together: I
WILL!
The ministers address the candidates: When you were
baptized, God made promises to you and gave you the gift of
the Holy Spirit. Your parents and the people of this
congregation have helped you grow in faith through their own
promises. Are you ready now to enter further into our life
together through your promises, by attending the worship of
God, through service, and by receiving instruction about our
faith?
Each candidate answers in turn: I AM!

The ministers address the congregation: Friends in
Christ: God's people are called to build up one another in
the faith. Will you support these persons on their journey
of faith with prayer, words, and deeds?
The congregation answers: WE WILL!
Pastor: Let us pray:
Most gracious God, we thank you for the students who have
experienced the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit in their
lives. As they prepare now to confirm the promises made for
them in baptism, give them your peace, and make them
steadfast in faith throughout their lives.
Lord in your mercy:
Congregation: HEAR OUR PRAYER
(The prayer of the Church continues, followed by The Peace,
when all return to their seats.)
