Hanging of the Greens

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.

Let us pray. Lord God you have given us a world of surpassing beauty. You fill the night sky with stars. You crown the earth with green and lovely things. Your beauty is reflected in the beauty of creation, your glory fills our world. Be with us as we as we decorate and beautify your house. May our work help us in the contemplation and celebration of your birth among us. May the work of our hands give you glory. Amen.

With a tree we remember your death for us on the cross, and
We praise you, 0 Lord.

With trees evergreen we praise you for the gift of eternal life,
We praise you, 0 Lord.

With lights that remind us of the star and call us to the true light,
We praise you, 0 Lord.

With the decorations that remind us of all you give that delights us,
We praise you, 0 Lord.

With wreaths, circles without end, we remember your love everlasting, and
We praise you, 0 Lord.

With manger and stable, figures of Mary and Joseph, the infant Jesus, shepherds, magi and angels, we remember the story of your coming among us, and
We praise you, 0 Lord.

With our hands and voices, our gifts and our very lives,
We serve and praise you, 0 Lord.

Let the people praise you, 0 Lord.
Let all the people praise you.

"Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.

And let all the people say, 'Amen.' Praise the LORD!" (Ps 106:4-8)
