"Half a Shave"

The confirmation classes of United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm challenged the members of the congregation to vote on whether Pastor Oz Twedt should "get clean shaven for Lent." At a dollar a vote, the choices were to shave or not to shave; but when the results were counted on Sunday, February 10, the surprising results were $80 to shave, $40 not to shave, and $100 to shave only half. Christine Siebert, a member of the congregation, then shaved off the right half of his beard during the coffee hour which followed the worship service, much to the delight of the onlookers. The $220 dollars was sent to the "World Hunger Fund" of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
