Prison Ministry
Project of Hope Lutheran Church Women of Ladysmith
Our church women, individuals in the community, and other church organizations
in the community donate money to buy yarn. Our women then buy the yarn
and take it to Portage to the prison.
The men, who are in for life sentences, knit or crochet mittens,
scarves, and hats. The left-over yarn is made into lap robes or
art.
When they are finished, we pick up all the articles they have made.
We bring them back to Ladysmith and distribute them to the schools
in the area and to organizations that help the poor. The lap robes
go to individuals or to a nursing home.
