Keep Us Growing, LORD!!!
by Tim Williams

O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”  Psalm 63:1

It was a Wednesday evening in November and I was eating dinner with my group for ALPHA last fall in the fellowship area at church.  As I ate dinner, I marveled at all that was happening at Ascension that evening and all those who were involved.   There were over 30 people involved in participating and serving for meal that evening.  There were Council members meeting in a classroom in prayer before a meeting.  The youth were coming in for a servant event with many of their parents.  There was a group meeting for First Place in an early childhood room (Good thing they lost all that weight to fit in those little chairs!).  A leaders’ meeting was happening.  The youth choir was meeting and there was another group meeting for another study in room 105.

What a wonderful place the Lord has graced us with.  Go past our Father’s house on any evening, and you will see cars in parking lot and lights on in the building.  The opportunities for members and friends of Ascension to grow in there faith seem endless.

Thank you Lord for the opportunities to know You and to build our faith.  Help us to remember that You are our God, to seek you, and to continue to hunger for more of You.  In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
