March 7

Second Sunday in Lent

Rejoice

Read from the following texts.

Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18

Psalm 27

Philippians 3:17--4:1

Luke 13:31-35

But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20

We are citizens in the country where we live on this earth. We belong.

We are citizens now and forever in heaven. We know that Jesus will come again and take us to live with him. We will live in the place where we already have citizenship. We will live in heaven.

Look at a hymnal to find hymns to sing during Lent.  Choose a favorite one to sing with your family or learn a new song together.

Sometimes the page will tell who wrote the words or composed the music for the hymn and when it was written.  Use the Internet to find out more about some of the hymn writers and why they wrote the song.

Be a modern composer.  Write words and make up music to go with them or chose a tune you like and make up words to fit the music.
