Read Philippians 3:4b-14

Paul warned the Philippians of people and ideas that could endanger them. Rival preachers encouraged circumcision. Paul argued that this was not necessary for Christians. Paul rejected people's claims of self-righteousness. If anyone had the right to boast he said that he had great credentials. Paul claimed the righteousness which comes from Christ alone. He had been called by God to share the message of Jesus' love and forgiveness.

We cannot boast of our own righteousness but only of what Jesus has done for us.

Dear Lord,

Thank you that we do not need to depend on our own good works. Thank you for covering us with your robe of righteousness.

Amen

Sharing the Good News

Look at the list of events in the Passion story given yesterday. What talents do you have that could help you share the story of what Jesus has done for us? (Music, drawing or painting, reading, speaking, writing, drama, food preparation-as in serving a warm meal to someone who is ill or lonely, teaching, computer skills, etc.)

Help a child or group of children make a booklet of pictures or a rolled paper strip "TV" that depicts the events in the Passion story. Help them find an audience for their finished product.
