Read Psalm 32

Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Psalm 32:5

A clear conscience results from being forgiven by God and fellow humans. It is good to confess our sins.

Dear God,

I confess today that __________________________________ Forgive me.

In Jesus' name

Amen

Are you thinking about and sharing the verse you read at the beginning of Lent? Joel 2:13 Reread the verse in several translatons of the Bible. Think again about what it means to return to God.

In church, in our confession of sins, we often ask God to forgive not only the sins we have done, but also the things we have left undone. We forget about the millions of people in the world who are hungry, in prison, or oppressed. We need to remember that Jesus told us that what we do for those people is really something we do for him.

Are we forgetting the three R's as we care for God's world? Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce

What kinds of items are you recycling? What are you reusing instead of just tossing into the garbage or landfill? Look in your closets and cupboards. You may find clothing, bedding, housewares, toys and other items that need to be made available to persons less fortunate than you. How much food is wasted in local school cafeterias? How can you reduce consumption by careful shopping, and by saving the amount of water and energy you use?
