Read Isaiah 55:1-9

Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come buy wine and milk without money and without price. Isaiah 55:1

God's love and care is like good fresh water.

God is the source of LIFE! Come! Salvation or wholeness is offered there. Come!

The idea of streams of fresh water is often used in the Bible as an illustration for God's care and deliverance. In today's world our streams have often become polluted or dry. We hear of increasing water shortages.

Reaching Out

How can we conserve water in our homes and keep our community water supplies safe? Can we donate funds through the church or another charity to be used to provide clean accessible water supplies to needy people? Can such water supplies help those people experience God's love and care as it is extended by a Christian community?

Telling Others

Make a Water Drop Puppet.

Use the puppet to tell others about God's love and of our need to care for the world.

Use a marker to make a face on a pint-size plastic bag. Fill it with water and tape it tightly. Hold it in your hand and let the puppet "talk".

It could describe the water cycle, using water wisely, or helping poor people get good wells.

It could tell others that God's love and care is like good fresh water.
