As you read the paper or listen to the news make notes about people or places in trouble.  Learn more about them.  Find out if there are ways you can help.

Plan errands that you could do for another person. Tell them that you love because God first loved us. You could also make a book of tickets or gift certificates listing tasks you could do that can be redeemed when the recipient needs them.

Dear God,

Be with people in places where there is hunger, war, or illness. Help us to know how to reach out to needy and lonely persons. Teach us to share what we have to help them. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
