Project: A Lenten devotional booklet, written by members and distributed to all family units and various community agencies. Involved a wide range of ages and over forty writers Method: An editor was chosen to oversee project, select Bible passages for use, and to procure writers to compose a devotional message for one day during Lent. A printer selected and deadline established for receipt of all devotional messages from members. Passages distributed with date for use noted and a request for a prayer to be used that day also. A contest held among youth of Reformation to design cover art for the booklet. Cover design selected and all devotional messages and prayers made ready for the printer. Following receipt of completed booklets, a group of volunteers met to place them in envelopes, attach mailing labels and place in mail one week prior to Ash Wed. Results: Enough booklets were ordered from printer to also distribute them to other area institutions such as homeless shelters, etc. Lenten devotional were very well received. Approximate cost: $800.00 |
