Holy Week Eggs

Use plastic Easter eggs with numbers written on the ends.

Egg #1 Read Luke 19:28-2
              Palm branches (silk flower palm leaf) represent Jesus' ride into Jerusalem.

Egg #2 Read Matthew 26:14-16.
            Three coins (pennies) remind us of the money Judas received for betraying Jesus.
           
Egg #3 Read Matthew 26:29.
             A cup (Communion cup) represents the Last Supper.

Egg #4 Read Luke 22:39-48.
            Praying hands (sticker of praying hands) depict Jesus praying in the Garden of
            Gethsemane.

Egg #5 Read Matthew 27:36.
             Leather strips represent the whip used to give Jesus 39 lashes after his trial.

Egg #6 Read John 19:2-3.
             Purple cloth reminds us of how Jesus was mocked.

Egg #7 Read John 19:23-24.
            A nail represents those that were used to hang Jesus to the cross.

Egg #8 Read John 19:23-24.
             Dice portray the Roman soldiers gambling for Jesus' robes.

Egg #9 Read John 19:31-34.
            A spear (half toothpick) reminds us of the soldier who pierced Jesus' side.

Egg #10 Read Matthew 27:60-66.
             Gauze depicts how Jesus was wrapped and buried.

Egg #11 Read Matthew 27:60-66.
               The stone shows how they closed the tomb.

Egg #12 Read Matthew 28:5-6.
               The last egg is empty to show that Jesus rose from the dead.
