Sunday School Quilted Wall Hanging Project

The Sunday School children and staff  have worked over a month on a mission project that will be a gift to our sister parish in Malawi.  The Sunday School Committee was very receptive to this idea that came to Ann from a Bible Study memorization verse, John 15:5, I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

The children, under the supervision of  Darin, Karen, Lemay, Ann, Mike and Stephanie, and Ashely, Gretta and parents, helped choose photographs for the branches that incorporated both English Lutheran and the Malawi parish of Nkhotakota. They traced the vine & branches, cut out and fused them to the quilt, then colored in the leaves surrounding the photos and traced in the bible verse.

The vine and branches were then top stitched, and the quilt layered, machine quilted and binding applied and finished by Ruth, Karen, and Ann.

This was truly a "group" project that is sent with love and hopes of  best wishes and blessings to our brothers and sisters in Malawi.
