Happy New Year!

As we round the corner into a new year we come full face with the 100th year of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Pepin. It is an exciting time for this congregation, a time for celebration and of thanksgiving for our Father's guiding hand. Because of Him these one hundred years have been but a short time.

This letter goes out as the "first" mailing of Centennial information which we hope will give each one who receives it, the opportunity to plan their schedules to attend as many of our Centennial events as possible.

Enclosed is the itinerary for the coming year. It should be self-explanatory. We include in our mailings the names of several former members who may be interested in returning for some events, the area churches, and several who have been so helpful with information and assistance. We invite all of you as well as friends and/or relatives. If you know of someone who may like to be included in our mailings please drop a note with the address to Pat.

For the area churches - we know our time schedules often are the same so we have organized June 11 so that members of your congregations might join us for dinner and fellowship and for our afternoon program.

As your Centennial Committee, many of us will be attending the special services in "dress of the period" of 100 years ago. We would like to invite congregation members and visitors to join us. It will help to put you in the mood of the celebration. We have several authentic patterns that are in the hands of Beatrice if you would like to borrow one. Call her if interested, at _____.

We highly encourage parents to bring their children to the two Saturday evening dinners in March and April. Church events can also be fun and interesting as well as informative. Your children grow up believing in however you guide them. This is their golden opportunity and we have tried to keep the cost to one that should fit most budgets.

The Sunday School education group from the committee will be working with the students one Sunday a month. They have worked diligently to provide the students with information, incentive craft projects and games with corresponding Bible verses, and music to add to their Christian base. All of these things will strengthen these children's religious beliefs with the support of the parents. Help your child/children to participate fully by attending the events they are involved in.

Please go through our itinerary thoroughly and then keep it in a convenient place for later reference. This Centennial celebration will only be a success with the assistance of all of Immanuel's congregation and our visitors.

Another newsletter will be on its way to you before our first Centennial Saturday and Sunday so if you have addresses to include please send them in.

God be with each of you as He renews and strengthens our faith in Him throughout this coming year.

Yours in Christ,

Immanuel Centennial Committee
Patricia, Chairperson
