SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER'S APPRECIATION DINNER

What we did:

A chair person secured helpers, and a clean up crew was secured.

All Sunday School teachers and youth leaders were invited.

The theme of the event was "Angels"

The evening began with punch served in the Narthex. Matching an angel picture/puzzles served as an ice breaker and partners to eat with. (Each guest was given half a picture/puzzle and needed to find the guest with the matching half. These two than became partners for the evening.)

The brief "program" consisted of a few words from the pastor, a few words from the council Vice chairperson, presentation of gifts, (pens with a guardian angel on top.) and a music video tribute to Sunday School teachers.

Dinner was served at tables with white table cloths, decorated with angels and lit candles. A bowl of angel coleslaw was at each table, a bread basket with many special breads, some cut into angel shapes with cookie cutters. An individual salad at each place consisted of a angel cut jiggler (jello) and a lettuce leaf with assorted fruit. A dinner plate was later served to each guest; chicken breast, potato square, and assorted steamed veggies.
Dessert was a delightful angel food cake. (What else? . . .and white chocolate, made into an angel.

A special "ode to teachers" was written and sung to the teachers to the melody of "Angels we Have Heard On High."
