What's a brown bag lunch?

A chance for members of the congregation to meet with the pastors once a month in an informal setting. Sometimes the pastors choose a topic for discussion and announce it in the previous week's "Opportunities" bulletin. In the year since this tradition began, attendance at Brown Bag Lunches has ranged from 4 to 25 people.

A sample of topics:

  • Different communion practices: common cup, intinction, individual cups
  • What do Baptists believe?
  • The place of the American flag in the sanctuary
  • Will our clothing bank continue in its present form?

An actual newsletter ad: Brown Bag with the Pastors (date of meeting.) Bring your sack lunch and join our pastors for lunch. We meet in room 205 on the main floor of the church for an hour of healthy give and take regarding the life of the church. Hot coffee is provided!
