SAYING GOOD-BYE
Pastoral Care to Those Whose Congregation is Closing

A letter written by one of our youngest members at the first vote to close in September. This letter was given to me at that first meeting, 2 weeks after I had come to Fairdale. It led me to visit with this young girl who was only 8 years old at the time. I discovered in her a great love for her church and a great interest in being a part of that church. Over the year she became an active worship leader playing offertories on the piano, reading the lessons, helping me in any way she could, always well-rehearsed and serious about her endeavors. Working with Kerri - nurturing her love of the church - has been one of the real joys during my Internship.

Yes X No

Yes you should keep the church open. Its a house of God.

We could have church at least 3 times a month or on holly days. I feel that if it's a house of God we need to keep the church open. I like going to church. On Chrismas I always say my part from bible school and ther so nice parts I just want to keep the church open. I hope you go with my part. I love this church. Just because we don't have a noughph mony dosen't mean we can't keep the church open.

I'm only 8 going to be 9.

I love the church.
