Position: Director of Children's Ministries Introductory Statement Trinity Lutheran Church seeks a person to join our ministry leadership team and share the spirit of engaging all people in sharing their God-given gifts for ministry in ways which are meaningful and enriching to faith and daily life. The Director of Children's Ministries will be the lead staff person to encourage families and congregational members to create and participate in faith-developing activities for children. The Director of Children's Ministries must have a sense of call and a passion for ministry with children and their families that is grounded in an understanding and appreciation of Lutheran theology. Specific experience will include a Bachelor's degree with demonstrated experience in leading, recruiting and energizing people to carry out responsibilities, A willingness to grow in faith in this position as the ministry system of Trinity evolves is a requirement. The Director of Children's Ministries shall: 1) Share a commitment to the Church of Jesus Christ and the priesthood of all believers 2) Utilize prayer as the key to ministry 3) Have primary responsibility of programs for children from birth through sixth grade 4) Provide leadership and input to the various committee and staff members who are associated with carrying out these programs 5) Work cooperatively with all staff members to enhance existing ministries and develop new ones to reach an ever growing and dynamic population within and beyond Trinity. The Director of Children's Ministries will work cooperatively and receive support from the Administrative Pastor. Opportunity for review and goal setting will take place periodically.
The Director of Children's Ministries shall: 1) Emphasize and value the fostering of a team-spirit among the staff of Trinity Lutheran Church and recognize the importance and role of each staff member in the life and ministry of the congregation 2) Be a mentor, companion, resource and role model for the congregation's children and the people who work with and lead children 3) Be available as a resource for the director, teachers and families of Noah's Ark Preschool Ministry 4) Foster a spirit of Christian community for children, families and individuals who lead children 5) Work cooperatively with other ministry directors, appropriate committees, and Trinity Council members to educate and keep people informed about ministry possibilities. |
